Beyond the city line

Metro Vancouver casinos beyond the city

The City of Vancouver has two casinos. Seven more sit across Metro Vancouver, from Burnaby to Langley. This page sorts them by distance from downtown, with the hours each one publishes and one detail that sets it apart.

01Two in the city, seven around it

Inside the city limits there are two casinos: Parq Casino downtown and Hastings Casino in Hastings Park. The other seven are elsewhere in Metro Vancouver, and each has its own page in this guide.

Distances are measured in a straight line from a downtown Vancouver centre point. SkyTrain does not run in straight lines, so the actual trip will be longer.

02Telling the seven apart

River Rock is the one closest to a Canada Line station. Measured straight across, the casino sits about 150 m from Bridgeport Station.

Both Grand Villa and Starlight run 24/7, and both offer free parking: a parkade reaches the main entrance, and outdoor lots sit beside it.

Cascades Casino Delta does not open overnight. Doors shut at midnight Sunday through Thursday, at 2AM on Fridays and Saturdays, and there is no poker room.

Great Canadian Casino Vancouver has the city in its name and its address in Coquitlam, at 2080 United Boulevard. BCLC's listing shows free parking, and no transit route is named, so plan the trip before you leave.

Elements Casino Surrey lost its neighbouring racetrack in 2025. Fraser Downs shut on August 15, 2025; the track itself has been demolished since. Elements has no poker room.

Cascades Casino Langley is the farthest out. For now, transit there ends at the Langley Centre bus exchange, about 130 to 190 m away. The Surrey Langley SkyTrain extension is expected to reach Langley City Centre in late 2029.

03Same rules at every door

Some things do not change with the postal code. Every BC casino is 19+. Original government-issued photo ID has been required at the door for every visitor since June 26, 2023. Each ID is checked by security against everyone barred from gambling facilities, Game Break enrollees too, and BCLC states it keeps no record of those admitted.

  • Encore Rewards is the BCLC loyalty program used at all of these venues. Signing up costs nothing; Guest Services handles it once valid ID is shown.
  • GameSense Info Centres and advisors are on or near the gaming floor in every BC casino.
  • No smoking or vaping indoors. Provincial law names casinos among the indoor public places where it is banned.

When gambling is no longer fun, Gambling Support BC answers free of charge, 24/7, at 1-888-795-6111. There is more on the support page.

04Getting home late

After SkyTrain stops, TransLink's NightBus runs every 20 to 30 minutes, seven nights a week. From about 1:30 a.m., every NightBus route leaves from either Howe & Dunsmuir or Seymour & Granville downtown. Routes include the N9 to Coquitlam Central Station, the N10 to Richmond and the N19 to Surrey Central Station. None of these is confirmed to stop at a casino door, so check the NightBus page before you rely on one. The late-night page has the details.
